Uncooked vegan food is proven to cleanse and nourish the body. It is said to help people attain weight loss or weight gain, depends what is appropriate. It is said to bring people healthy glowing skin and increased energy. But is it acceptable on a long term basis?

Raw vegan food, preferably organic, is usually part of a very healthy diet. Since cooking often destroys enzymes and nutrients, eating food in the raw state definitely makes sense. To say though that a raw meat-less diet is the most natural way to eat may be a bit far from the truth.
When looking at indigenous humans you will find very little if any at all that don't eat meat, fish and cooked foods in their diets. A lot of these folks live well beyond one hundred years of age when sticking to their natural way of eating. Even chimpanzees consume meat, insects and bee foods.
There is more and more evidence with the flimsy hair, unhealthy nails, thin frames and failing teeth that being on a 100 percent raw vegan diet for the long term might very well be a wrong way to go. It seems that our systems need more than what is provided by a completely plant foods diet. This is taken as a shock to many folks part of the raw food world.
It is worth mentioning however that the regular choices for animal foods, fish, eggs and dairy available to most people are not at all healthy. Most of the meat options are toxic before they even reach the plate. But many more options for healthfully raised animals are beginning to hit the grocery store shelves as folks become more conscious of what's really in their foods.
Now, for the short term, to cleanse and heal, plenty of health professionals are still suggesting strictly raw plant foods. These raw plant based foods would be even more healthy had they been harvested from the wild or grown without pesticides. Additionally, consuming the foods in a raw form and in smoothie or liquid form may assist the body to assimilate them much easier and provide the body with less digestive stress providing it a great environment to cleanse and heal from a wide range of ailments.
But, the rising general consensus regarding long term health, is that a decent amount of raw vegan foods would be ideal but as well as including healthy raised fish, eggs, bee products and meat brought in the diet as a way to offer our systems the rest of the necessary nutrients needed to survive and thrive, including B12 and DHA.
It is also really important to chew the food very well before swallowing. Cooking the fish, meat and eggs would usually be wise but it has been said that eating some of these food items raw may be OK to do as well. Also, raw honey is definitely the recommended route to go regarding bee foods. We also can't ignore that some nutrients, namely lycopene, which has been said to hunt down and destroy pre-cancer cells in the body, they suggest come as a result of cooking tomatoes.. so heating our vegan foods every once in awhile may give additional benefit as well.
